Respectful Communication Session Description:
High-performing work groups practice a type of communication that allows workers to maximize their brainpower and leads to innovative products, services and markets. This session demonstrates this method of communication. It also illustrates how communication breaks down and stifles high performance. BISA members learn the two most important rules in respectful communication: 1) assume good intent; and 2) identify the logic. They practice respectful communication and are critiqued and coached on how to follow these rules in interactions with individuals and in groups.

Leading with Innovative and Entrepreneurial Thinking Session Description:
Too often, executives over rely on their experience and patterns of thinking that have been successful for them in the past. In a completely static environment, this might allow them to continue to make good decisions, but the business environment is changing rapidly and becoming increasingly complex. What worked in the past, won’t always work in the future. Executives must constantly scan the environment, seek out alternative perspectives, and consider innovative approaches. BISA members will learn tools that will help them develop and evaluate new business ideas. This session will build a series of models of success and failure in the world of entrepreneurial business ideas through case analysis. The goal is to develop an unconscious common sense for strategic thinking to uncover groundbreaking ideas.
