Benchmarking Survey The Bank Insurance & Securities Association and MarshBerry are pleased to kick off an insurance-driven financial and operational benchmarking survey exclusively for our bank-insurance partners. This complimentary tool will allow you to measure your agency’s key profit, operational and equity perspectives against those of your peers in the bank-insurance industry and the insurance distribution system as a whole. All survey respondents will receive a benchmark comparing your insurance operation to your bank-insurance peers across 15 key ratios. With a minimum of 20 BISA members participating, MarshBerry will also write an overall bank-insurance analysis to accompany the results. The analysis will be distributed to participants and presented at the Community & Regional Banking forum in San Diego this September. The benchmark targets banks that own insurance distribution operations. Please make sure this data request is forwarded to the appropriate person within your insurance organization. MarshBerry will also conduct a webinar in April to further explain the data inputs, report outputs and address any questions you may have. Banks who distribute insurance only through referrals to independent agencies should not complete data. The benchmarking output provides a ranking for your insurance division based upon a scale of 1-10, your insurance operation’s performance, the average bank-insurance operation performance, and industry-wide averages. Please see the sample report (PDF file format) enclosed for the format of the results. Only through your active participation can we provide you with the sound, valid and beneficial output to make both your insurance operation and our collective association stronger. We encourage you to take the time to complete and return this survey, as we believe the results can be instrumental in enhancing both your understanding of the bank-insurance environment and the performance of your operation. We also need your active participation to ensure that the benchmarks are well populated and valid. All bank-agency specific data will be treated as confidential information. Click here to download the data form in MS Excel format. Data Input Definitions are available online, see www.bisanet.org/resources/marshbery_def.html. All data forms should be completed and faxed (440.354.0371) or mailed by May 15th to: Patrick T. Linnert Should you have any questions, you may call Patrick directly at 440.392.6568. We thank you in advance for your time and hope you take advantage of the benefits this survey will provide.
