2018 Annual Convention Call for Proposal



Call for Proposals

Submit a proposal to BISA for your opportunity to be a part of the 2018 Annual Convention educational program. The BISA Annual Convention is the perfect forum to share your company's research or new program that benefits the financial industry. With an audience of more than 700 engaged leading professionals, you can easily reach decision-makers and industry thought leaders. 

The 2018 BISA Annual Convention is Tuesday, March 6 – Friday, March 9 at The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, FL, and we are looking for the below sessions:

  • 15 Concurrent Sessions
  • 4 Keynote Speakers

BISA has solicited topics for sessions and the suggestions have been made for the following.

Life Insurance and Long Term Care

  • Life Insurance as a greater focus post DOL
  • What have we learned the last ten years but not implemented to drive Life Insurance in bank programs?
  • What is the ideal model for distributing insurance in banks?
  • Insurance strategies that deliver results 

Enhancing Client Experience through Financial Planning and Holistic Wealth Management

  •  The Wealth Management Continuum in Banks: From Robo to Financial Advisors to Private Bank with integration and synergy 
  • Executing Financial Planning as an enterprise wide initiative in bank programs
  • Strategies to drive a Financial Planning Culture 
  • Best Practices in driving growth of the Advisory Business 
  • FinTech Partnerships/Strategies that help enhance the client experience 
  • How to create more effective practice management though client onboarding, planning and client reviews.
  • More efficient and effective methods  to improve the retirement planning process
Client Acquisition: Marketing/Outreach
  •  With referrals down, what are effective and actionable new and innovative to prospect for new clients
  • Effective client segmentation strategies 
  • Increasing new mass affluent households to an advisor book in the current climate
  • Building and enhancing bank Investment call centers for both sales and service support
Recruitment, Development and Retention
  •  Diversity initiatives that work
  • Recruiting and retention in a post DOL environment
  • Compensation strategies in a "conflict free" regulatory environment
  • Executive leadership development in bank brokerage

Please note that BISA receives nearly 100 proposals annually for a limited number of sessions. We encourage you to work with your peers on session proposals. For proposals to be considered, they MUST be fully completed with no TBDs or NAs. Only complete, well-thought out and forward thinking proposals will be accepted.  Product pitches will not be considered.





BISA does not offer monetary compensation to speakers. Speakers will be offered complimentary registration, but must cover their own accommodations.

Organizations sponsoring keynote speakers are responsible for covering any speaker fees and travel or hotel accommodations.

The call for proposals will be closed on Friday, October 6, 2017. Accepted speakers will be notified first week of December 2017.
